Art Johnson has been a member of the University of Maryland faculty since 1975, starting in the Department of Agricultural Engineering and serving as affiliate faculty to the Department of Kinesiology. In 1992 he became a member of the Department of Biological Resources Engineering, and in the fall of 2006, he joined the faculty of the newly-established Fischell Department of Bioengineering.
An expert in instrumentation, transport processes, modeling, exercise physiology and respiratory stress, Dr. Johnson is the director of the Human Performance Laboratory.
